Spring 2024: Blooming Success at Resin!

Spring has sprung, and with it, Resin is blossoming! We opened on Earth Day with a thrilling launch. We’ve seen a staggering 400% surge in our user base and nabbed our first non-profit partner within our first week. The recent one-day bottle and can drive orchestrated by the United Way of Effingham proved to be a resounding success, bringing in 14,000 cans and 1,400 bottles. (See below for a spotlight on our partnership with them.) We are excited about how fast we’re seeing traction and proud of the product we’ve built. We’re now focused on capitalizing on this momentum to move even faster.

🎀 Ribbon Cutting Extravaganza!

Our grand opening ceremony, hosted in collaboration with the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce, was a lot of fun. Who could resist the allure of mini doughnuts and giant scissors! ✂️ We had a great turn out despite some unexpectedly cold weather, underscoring the support we’re seeing from the community. We also brought in a few exciting referrals we’ve been able to turn into qualified leads. (More on this in a future newsletter!) Kelly and I also did our first ever radio interview to advertise our opening. (Check out the interview here.)

🌟 Customer Spotlight: United Way of Effingham

We're thrilled to shine a spotlight on the United Way. The United Way fundraises so you don’t have to. Money raised by their fundraisers is distributed in the form of grants to local organizations to meet the changing needs of Effingham County residents. (Listen to the radio spot promoting Resin here and learn more about the United Way here.)

Thanks for all you do! What an amazing program!
— Emily Hille, Chief Professional Officer United Way of Effingham

🎚️ Technical Spotlight: Scaling for Success

On the technical front we’re working hard to scale fast enough to handle demand. During our soft launch the largest drop off was 1,372 containers. Since our grand opening we’ve already had our first 3,000+ container drop off. Strategic investments in equipment, like acquiring a semi-trailer, are bolstering our capacity. We’re collaborating closely with our material buyers to ensure we’re prepping material to be delivered in their preferred formats. On the software side I have been living in firmware land as we continue to improve our in-station automation. Soon we’ll need to invest in automation for emptying our storage bins. It continues to be delightful to see my work turn on conveyors and blowers and other physical things.

📸 Meet Our Social Media Advisor: Jessica Bedussi

A huge thank you to Jessica Bedussi, Communications Planning Director from David&Goliath. With a wealth of experience working with global giants such as Audi and eBay, Jess has helped us shape our social media strategy. Her guidance has provided us with a solid framework to navigate the social media landscape, and we're excited to start unveiling new content in the weeks to come.

🔮 Looking Ahead: Fueling Growth with Revenue and Community Partnerships

We’re on the path to a truckload of material which will allow us to realize revenue. We’ve started a partner program for non-profits to get our product-led growth flywheel going. The Lake Land College Alumni association has already been instrumental in helping us design a referral feature that operates similar to Amazon Smile, a fundraising source they haven’t been able to replace since it shut down last year.
