FAQ about using a Resin station

Community Driven Recycling

  • Aluminum cans and bottles

  • Yes, leave the pop tabs on your cans.

  • Yes, feel free to crush your cans to save space.

  • While it's not necessary to thoroughly clean cans, please remove any remaining liquid.

  • Unaccepted items end up in the landfill and hurt our ability to reliably recycle with our partners. When in doubt, it's best to leave it out. You can always send us a picture of the item and we’ll let you know if we can recycle it.

  • Items need to be loose so that our computer vision systems can ‘see’ each item individually. Please pour your recyclables into the drawer and take your containers with you.

  • We recommend each person signs up with their own code because it ties the materials you drop off to your email address. This is how we let you know what you earn, give you feedback on what you drop off, and share the impact your recycling efforts are having. If you share your code with someone else you are responsible for what they drop off.

  • Absolutely, we welcome individuals to recycle with us.
